Finished Flower Pot cake 09/09/2009
I attempted to do a flower pot cake, and I had a lot of fun figuring this one out. I actually baked the cake in a NEW ceramic flower pot. Everything on the cake was edible besides some dow pins and little pieces of wire holding the flowers on the stems. I am still learning how to use the airbrush, and found that actually hand painting the flowers was best.
Getting the fondant to look like a terrakata pot was challenging, but I figured it out. I honestly don't think I could have come any closer to the right color. It was awesome to take this cake in to the birthday party and see everyone's reaction to the cake. This is the first cake I have done for some one that was not related or close friends. I guess I pulled it off and I am getting more confidence in my abilities in each cake I do. Next cake I am going to try to use modeling chocolate.
until next time my friends.

I am getting ready to start making a Flower pot cake, so this should be interesting, I actually baked the cake in a ceramic flower pot, then I am going to cover it in Fondant. This is also my first time using a airbrush, and boy do I need to work on that. I will be posting pictures as I start making this cake, I just hope it turns out good.
Bye for now,
